ADA Warehouse, Palmerston North

Client: PMB Landco
Engaged by PMB Landco in 2021 to provide a range consultancy services for the building of a warehouse and office building in Palmerston North’s Northeast Industrial park, including: Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Fabrication Shop Detailing.

A ground up development that required the team at Resonant to work closely with the client and other consultants and service providers to coordinate the conceptual design, detailed design and construction monitoring of the structural and civil engineering aspects of the development. The initial site survey including topography and site set-out ensured that the development was located on the subject property within the boundaries and requirements of the consents.
Structural design required a clear span warehouse of 35 metres by 75 metres and a two-story office building incorporating precast concrete panels, as well as a significant covered canopy requiring a portal frame design to tie into the main warehouse structure. Following design of the structure the Steel Shop Fabrication team created highly detailed fabrication shop drawings to enable the steel fabricators to fabricate 230 tonnes of steel with millimetre accuracy.
The civil engineering requirements included a comprehensive stormwater management design as well as all pavement surfaces for heavy truck movements and carparking facilities. The site had a few unique challenges including location of existing services, poor ground conditions requiring engineered fill, fire suppression requirements and differing levels and types of pavement and flooring surfaces.

With a strict timeline in place for the completion of the total development the Resonant team were on hand to be able to undertake construction monitoring and testing and complete sign off on all aspects of the project as required.
